How to Install Cisco Packet Tracer on Ubuntu 20.04
Packet Tracer is a cross-platform visual simulation tool designed by Cisco Systems that allows users to create network topologies and imitate modern computer networks. The software allows users to simulate the configuration of Cisco routers and switches using a simulated command line interface.
And Cisco Packet tracer is a powerful network simulation tool built by Cisco. By which you can get the real world experience.
In this Tutorial we will see how to install Cisco Packet tracer on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (F ocal Fossa ).
Step 1
Go to https://www.netacad.com/portal/resources/packet-tracer and make sure you are signed up successfully.
Then Download the file : Linux Desktop Version 7.3.1 English
Or
You Can Just Download This ( 64 Bit Download ) File.
Step 2
Now open your terminal (ctrl + alt + t) and run this command :
[email protected]:~$ cd Downloads [email protected]:~/Downloads$ ls
you will see the downloaded .deb file here along with the other files you have downloaded
AdorshoLipi_20-07-2007.ttf PacketTracer_731_amd64.deb
Here we will allow execute permission for this file . Run this command now
[email protected]:~/Downloads$ sudo chmod +x PacketTracer_731_amd64.deb
Now all set to install the file . Run this command
[email protected]:~/Downloads$ sudo apt-get install ./PacketTracer_731_amd64.deb
Then it will ask for Yes or No : Press Y
Then The licence will appear : Press Enter and Then Yes
That's it the installation is complete.
